International Program in Dermatopathology

The International Fellowship Program in Dermatopathology is designed to provide training for overseas physicians in order for them to succeed in the field upon return to their country of origin. Candidates can apply to train for either one or two years and are required to complete a research project while enrolled.

Trainees in this program are not eligible to sit for the special certification examination given by the American Board of Pathology nor are they eligible to practice in the United States. Trainees are responsible for their own travel, board and lodging costs.

Requirements for the application:

MBBS or MD or equivalent degree
Past training in dermatology or pathology

Boston University offers a limited number of scholarships (Subimal Roy, MD, and Hari Tandon, MD international dermatopathology fellowships) with modest stipends. To qualify, candidates must have completed, in addition to the past training mentioned above, six months of either dermatology training (for those with pathology backgrounds) or pathology training (for those with dermatology backgrounds).
